How to Install Office 365 Applications on your Windows Computer

If you are using an Apple iMac or MacBook, we do not have instructions at this time. You may follow the official Office 365 documentation or other self help articles.

You must be connected to the internet and remain connected to the internet for the duration of the install.

If the install fails, it is typically due to a firewall and/or modem setting that you may behind.

Enter your MAIN business provided email (or Office 365 Account User Name)

Some Office 365 Accounts may use a different username for logging in that may differ from your company email address. 

EG: kevin@nivekit.onmicrosoft.com

 

Enter your password.

If your company’s email is hosted by Office 365, your password will most likely be the same password as your email account.

If Nivek IT is an administrator of your Office 365 account, we can assist you with your password reset. Simply call the HelpDesk at (720)924-6060. This is one of those situations where an email is not required first.

If Nivek IT is not an administrator, or they are not available, you may simply contact your company’s account administrator.

The forgot password option will only work if you have set-up your account security profile section.

On the upper right hand corner of the screen, click on the option that states "Install Office"

Please note, depending the Office 365 License and the User Access Level that you are assigned, you may say different icons. This is normal.

Select the first option "Office 365 apps"

You will only choose the “Other install options” if you have additional Office 365 Licenses and/or more advance user options. Most of the time, the :office 365 apps” will be the only option that you need.

Microsoft Edge

Click on the Run button

Once you click on the Run button, it will start the downloading and then installing process. 

If you are an Administrator User of the computer, you will be prompted to confirm the download and install.

If you are not an Administrator User of the computer, you will be prompted to enter the Administrative User credentials.

Depending on how the computer is/was setup, this may appear different for each user.

Google Chrome

Click on the "Setup.Def.en..." button on the bottom left

Once you click on the Office Install button, it will start the installation process. 

If you are an Administrator User of the computer, you will be prompted to confirm the download and install.

If you are not an Administrator User of the computer, you will be prompted to enter the Administrative User credentials.

Depending on how the computer is/was setup, this may appear different for each user.
